DESCRIPTIONS OF ANNUAL AWARDS
- Admiral Chester W. Nimitz U.S.N. Perpetual Trophy
Awarded to a club for having made the greatest advancement during the current year in promoting youth activities in yachting, including instruction in boat handling proficiency, seamanship, and safety.
- Bay & Delta Yachtsman, Public Service Award Trophy
Awarded to the club having performed a community service effort.
Awarded to a person for distinguished and selfless promotion of sailing, particularly, but not exclusively, to young people.
- Douglas Boswell "Yachtsman of the Year"
Recognizes a person for outstanding distinguished service to yachting.
- Jo Bates Memorial Delegate of the Year Award
To be nominated by a member of the Assembly of Delegates. The delegate who has best served in the image of Jo Bates for the greatest contribution of time and effort for the good of PICYA.
Shall recognize a person for outstanding and distinguished service to yachting through promotion and preservation of yachting history and traditions within their respective member clubs.
- Meritorious Service Award
The Safety committee will recognize any person, regardless of their affiliation, who has performed exceptional acts of rescue and aid in the saving of life and/or property in the age-old tradition of the sea.
- Robert S. Olson Memorial "Poseidon Award"
Presented to a person who, without consideration of reward or recognition, has selflessly given of his or her time and effort for the greater good of the boating community.
